Welcome
Hello to BPS
This is a wee blog to see if we can put all our weblinks in one place to make it easier to find them.
Please enjoy!

Thought you might like to see an animation about pupils with English as a second language made by Peacock Visual Arts with children from Inverurie. I really like it. Hope the link works and that you enjoy watching it. Second Language

Am going to start adding new links at the top… should perhaps have thought of that before, but hey… it’s a new year and I reserve the right to start it now.
By the way… Auntie Val has been very busy , over Christmas, gathering sites to help populate the blog – well done Val!
Let’s have the first of those new links be this one – Whiteboard resources from the Topmarks Education site
… and then there’s this… oh Val… what can I say?
(I will come back and try to sort this out so that it is more friendly)

Have been surfing on your behalf and found this huge resource. Full of web links
Happy exploring!

Mrs Watt has been at it again and has come up with yet more websites for our delectation – check out Buzzin which has a range of activities on a range of topics. Mostly aimed at upper stages, there are activites you could use further down the school.
There is also a chance to visit Roy the Singing Zebra to practice our reading.
Enjoy

Some more web links I found on the board of the ICT suite. This time I know who put them there… so a big thanks to Miss Green.
Work on various areas of the curriculum can be found on the Funbrain site.
The Woodlands Junior, Kent site seems to be a very popular site with some of the staff and again contains activities for all areas of the curriculum.
Some maths sites next with multiplication.com and mathplayground.com worth a look
If you are looking for work of a more spiritual or philosophical nature… or something to promote some deeper thinking about the world and our place init, then look no further than spiritual-education.org and osdemethodology.org.uk. This next link looks at point of view – the Elephants Story… and the fact that to make informed choices we must have the full picture!

Here’s a link to a site which looks at supporting dyslexia in the secondary school – there may be some useful tips you could pick up and use.
Still on the subject of dyslexia here is a link to Dyslexia Scotland.
Have also managed to dig up some other links… this one full of puzzle games for example.
Or how about a site of talking books – it would be a nice idea to have some talking books available in the library. If you notice, when you sign up, you can get some free… or at least you could at the time of updating the blog.
More Maths sites – maths is fun tables trainer for example.
A source of various resources made available by the BBC – both primary and secondary stuff here so it is possible to challenge the high fliers in your class.
Another site @school provides a wide range of resources for use in school -only problem being it is subscription site! Do you know anyone that has subscribed? It would be good to get some feedback.
Here’s a link to a whole site full of games type activities – Squigly’s Puzzle and Strategy Games for Kids

Yet another link from Mrs Watt. She is definitely an official Friend of the Blog. This time it is a page full of quiz links on a multitude of subjects. Click on the link to The Quiz Directory and quiz till you drop,
Have fun
PS I also had a quick look at the mother site for The Quiz Directory – Funtrivia.com – and I think it’s really worth exploring – there’s a huge amount on it though, so be warned.

Here’s an interesting link for writing frames etc, found on Education Oasis.
Some more interactive whiteboard resources. There are some excellent resources here.
